Discuss “Rhetorical Appeals”/PULL OUT THE HANDOUT! You received it the first time we did a persuasive speech! If you don't have it, it is in Google Classroom!
Come up with your topic… Each student chooses a different topic!
You MUST get it APPROVED BY ME before beginning.

Work on your outline first… Determine what your thesis/three points you are arguing in your BPs for your topic
Example: I believe students should be able to grade their teachers because ___________, ___________, and ___________.
Make sure that each point is a SOLID, ARGUABLE point as to why students should be able to grade their teachers.
- Find ONE source PER POINT/BP that supports your argument for that
point/BP.
**OUTLINE IS DUE WEDNESDAY BY THE END OF THE CLASS PERIOD FOR A GRADE.**
THURSDAY - FRIDAY

Take your outline and put it in essay format, divided into an introduction paragraph, 3 BPs, and a conclusion paragraph.
*Remember: as you’re typing, time yourself so you can be sure it is at
least 4 min long (I would do 4:10 to be on the safe side.)
Once done typing, work on your visual aid: must have an intro slide, a slide for each point, and a conclusion slide. Add summarized information (NOT the whole speech word for word) and pictures. You will have Monday to work on your visual aid as well. PRESENTING TUESDAY!
**TYPED SPEECH IS DUE FRIDAY BY THE END OF THE CLASS PERIOD FOR A GRADE.**
